Ramesh Hariharan, MD

Dr. Ramesh Hariharan is the founder and medical director of EP Heart. After completing his medical training in internal medicine and cardiology in India and England, Dr. Hariharan finished his cardiology fellowship and cardiac electrophysiology fellowship at the Texas Heart Institute. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Cardiac Electrophysiology. 

 

He is a Member of the Royal College of Physicians London, a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, and a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society. He has won numerous awards for excellence in clinical practice and for teaching. Dr. Hariharan was elected to the prestigious Alpha-Omega-Alpha Honor society and was the best outgoing medical resident at the University of Texas Medical School in 1994. He was also awarded best outgoing Cardiology fellow at the Texas Heart Institute in 2002. 

 

He is the author of numerous manuscripts and several book chapters in clinical cardiology. Dr. Hariharan is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and faculty physician of Texas Heart Institute and continues to teach the next generation of cardiologists in arrhythmia management. Since founding EP Heart in 2006, Dr. Hariharan has performed thousands of electrophysiology procedures. He has been an investigator on several clinical trials evaluating cardiac rhythm devices and continues to be involved in several ongoing clinical studies. 

 

Dr. Hariharan’s clinical and research interests are wide and range from device management of congestive heart failure to the ablation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias. He has performed numerous complex and sophisticated catheter ablation procedures for the treatment of life threatening arrhythmias in patients with cardiomyopathy or a weak heart muscle; and improved the quality of life with ablation, for patients with atrial fibrillation.

Saumya Sharma, MD

Dr. Saumya Sharma finished his training in internal medicine, cardiology, and cardiac electrophysiology at The University of Texas Houston Medical School. He is board certified in Electrophysiology, Internal Medicine and Cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Sharma has won several awards for clinical excellence, including best cardiology fellow 2006.

 

He has done extensive research in congestive heart failure and received several honors including the prestigious American College of Cardiology Young Investigator Award. He is the author of numerous manuscripts and book chapters related to congestive heart failure and cardiac arrhythmias.

 

He is an investigator on several clinical trials evaluating cardiac rhythm devices.  Dr. Sharma’s clinical and research interests focus on device management for congestive heart failure and catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation.
